25 Years Talking Shit: Omega Jackson & DJ Ian Head Return With “Sith Lord”
Brooklyn Nostalgia: Omega Jackson Meets DJ Ian Head
Some collaborations don’t need chasing, deadlines, or strategy. They just happen naturally over time.
Yonkers, New York emcee Omega Jackson and producer DJ Ian Head have been talking shit and making music together for over 25 years. Their latest drop, “Sith Lord,” is a sharp reminder of that long-standing chemistry. Equal parts humour and menace, the track showcases Omega’s witty-but-deadly mic style over Ian Head’s head-nod-inducing production.
Originally recorded in the early 2010s, “Sith Lord” came together at Ian’s Park Avenue apartment, right next to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Late-night sessions, lived-in beats, and raw energy all feed into a track that feels as authentic now as it did when it was first laid down.
The track is lifted from DJ Ian Head’s forthcoming digital EP Brooklyn Nostalgia. “Sith Lord” is available now on all major streaming platforms, and the full Brooklyn Nostalgia digital EP is available to pre-order now via the Village Live Bandcamp, ahead of its full release on 20th February.
If you’re into real-deal underground hip-hop, this one’s for you.
