Dirty Hairy is a London-born DJ and producer known for his deep-rooted love of hip-hop, jazz, and vinyl culture. Since first experimenting with drum machines and records in 1996, he has built an international reputation for his crate-digging expertise, turntablism skills, and soulful, sample-driven production - all trademarks of his unmistakable sound.

A lifelong record collector, Hairy has travelled extensively, DJing and digging across the UK, Japan, New Zealand, France, Holland, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Greece. Over the years, he has shared the stage with influential artists including GZA (Wu-Tang Clan), Sean Price, J-Live, One Be Lo, Statik Selektah, Edan & Patton Locke, DJ Format, Florian Keller, and many more - solidifying his presence in the global underground hip-hop scene.

Although widely celebrated for his sample-based hip-hop work, Dirty Hairy’s musical output spans well beyond the genre. He produces across a variety of styles and is the lead creator and producer behind Delu Kanam, a project rooted in African rhythms, organic percussion, and global groove-focused influences that highlight his versatility as a multi-genre producer.

In late 2023, Dirty Hairy released his debut solo LP “Pegs” on Village Live Records. The album delivers nine soulful, jazz-tinged hip-hop instrumentals filled with layered samples, deep grooves, and heartfelt tributes to the legends and friends who’ve shaped his journey. Pegs stands as a milestone release, showcasing his continued dedication to authentic, thoughtful beat-making.

In August 2023, Dirty Hairy officially partnered with Remulak as Co-Partner at Village Live Records, helping steer the label’s creative direction and long-term vision. While curating new talent and shaping the artist roster, he also brings leadership, strategy, and decades of underground vinyl culture expertise to the label’s core identity.
